The Linyati Reserve is located in the north of the famous Savuti area but in the corner of the Chobe Park. Thiw wildlife reserve has the highest concetration fo wildlife in the dry winter months where elephants converge at various entry points to rivers and water holes.
When it comes to wildlife, the highest and so far largest concentration of lions is found here. You will also find the hippos, wild dog, roan and sable. For birdwatching safaris in Botswana, the Linyari wildlife reserve has birds in abudance. The uncommon Narina Trogon can be found here.
Linyanti.
Linyanti is a short strip of a swampy river in the farthest corner of Chobe National Park. Linyanti is one of the forgotten Paradise for adventure, reminiscent with a number of permanent waterways with papyrus of Okavongo inland lagoons, towering canopy trees and reed-beds. The swamp covers an area of about 900 Kms, where it flows in the river and fills the area between Linyanti rivers and Kwando courses. The river only touches the National Park for a short section of the far Eastern corner of the swamp.
In the dry winter months especially, wildlife is in plentiful when there is great concentration of elephant, zebra and buffalo along the river especially in the months of April to October. Then with the roan antelope, giraffe and impala being seen back in the forests and the bird life diverse in big numbers commonly the water birds like pelican.
